This is my third year leading the judging of the annual photography competition of the Association of Media Photographers of Trinidad and Tobago (AMPOTT). The competition was markedly improved this year, with not just more entries but better work all around.
Images are judged blind, with Krishna and Bernadette handling the organisation and presentation of the images, we were able to move through an impressive collection of photos across a dozen categories.
Krishna is the president of AMPOTT, Bernadette is an old colleague from the media and specifically The Wire, Elmo is Petrotrin's photographer, having begun his career at the Guardian's San Fernando office, Maurice Brown is the retired Chief Photographer of the Guardian. Noel Norton is, well, something of a legend in local photography and William Aguiton, former chief at the Trinidad Hilton and a well-known portrait photographer.
