What blogs right?

This blog entry was supposed
to start with the line, "It's three in the morning and a dog is
yapping at my heels..."
Then I realised that the whole thought that followed would make for a pretty decent BitDepth column, so it is and I'm dropping it off at the Guardian in an hour or so.
That set me to thinking (always a bad idea, because it so rarely gets anywhere) about picking the right subjects for blogging.
The thing is, I've been writing BitDepth for so long, and shoe-horned such oddities into it over the ten years it's been around, that I'm wondering about what's right for this space, which is done for fun, and for the column, for which I get paid.
I don't think either readers should be shortchanged, which is more hopeful than it is generous, since until Google and Yahoo start picking up this site in their indexes, there probably aren't any readers here.
Hell, I'll figure it out as I go along. I still get odd twitches in my gut everytime I start thinking about the BitDepth deadline, so one more tummy rumble probably won't hurt.
Much.
